>>>> Selection 2014: Selection Completed/Letters of Admission Dispatched
15. May: Thanks to all ca. 70 candidates who have given an interview to our Selection Committee by telephone/Skype, or personally here in Heidelberg.
After the last interviews had taken place on 15. May, the Selection Committee convened and discussed the outcome and results of the individual candidates, and a ranking list was set up.
The top-24 candidates on this list have been offered a place in our program directly, other potentially suitable candidates were placed on a wait-list.
Admitted candidates must accept their place by 31. July.
>>> Selection 2014: Invitations for Interviews
29. April: The pre-evaluation of all applications with a preference for Major Cancer Biology has been completed and on 29. April 2014 the top candidates were invited for personal interviews at DKFZ Heidelberg on 8. or 15. May. Overseas or otherwise not available candidates will be interviewed by telephone/Skype between 6. and 15. May.
Note to all applicants with a preference for Major Cancer Biology:
If you did not receive an invitation e-mail from us on 29. April this means that your application is unfortunately no longer considered for Major Cancer Biology. We are very sorry about this but please understand that we have only 24 places to fill, so a lot of very fine candidates could not be invited.
But maybe the Major of your alternative preference will invite you!? Please follow the process on the University's admission page.
It can be said that this year again competition was extremely hard, and we wish all candidates who could not be considered all the best for their future plans hoping they will be able to pursue their academic careers in equally interesting programs!
>> Selection 2014: Applications Received
15. March: On the website of the University of Heidelberg candidates can check, by their application number, whether their application material was duly received by 15. March.
If your application number is not listed we regret this very much but ask your understanding that there is nothing we can do about it, the University does not accept delayed deliveries - whatever the reason may be.
The following applications have been received by the University and are currently being checked for validity:
> Schedule of 2014 Selection Procedure

End of April: Top candidates are invited for personal interview at DKFZ Heidelberg
(overseas or otherwise not available candidates will be interviewed by telephone/Skype)

After the interviews have taken place, the ranking and admission list is set up and the top-24 successful candidates are informed. The remaining potential candidates are placed on a wait-list and will be informed accordingly.
