The PhD Community at the DKFZ is very active and organised in dedicated PhD Student Teams, led by the PhD Council. The teams help new PhD students to settle in both at work and in Heidelberg, and organise many social and scientific networking events.

For more information about the PhD Council and Teams, please visit the PhD Portal, webpages administered by DKFZ students providing useful advise and information related to graduate studies at the DKFZ.

Resources for International PhD Students

If you're an international PhD student moving to Heidelberg to start your PhD at the DKFZ, then you might find the resources of our International Staff Services about living in Germany helpful for planning your stay.

"I got to know the DKFZ during my studies in the international master’s program "Major Cancer Biology". The decision to continue with my PhD studies at the DKFZ was an obvious choice to fully profit from its excellent research opportunities. I especially enjoy working with colleagues from different countries who share my enthusiasm for science."

(Deniz from Turkey, PhD student at the DKFZ)
