Translational Research

The DKFZ is one of the most important cancer research institutions in the world and is a leader in the field of basic research and early translational research in particular. To ensure that research results and developments can be taken up more quickly in the clinical area and reach cancer patients, we rely on a wide range of expertise, highly specialized, networked infrastructures and very close cooperation between basic researchers and clinically active physicians.

A laboratory technician in a white coat and blue gloves adjusts equipment on an analyzer labeled "Ultimate 3000." The technician is handling sample bottles with blue caps, connected by clear tubes, in a bright lab setting filled with various scientific tools and materials.
A medical professional discusses treatment options with a patient seated in a clinic, while another patient sits nearby. The setting conveys a supportive healthcare environment, emphasizing patient care and communication.
With our translational sites in Germany, we are working to optimize processes and make the results available to patients more quickly. Each of these sites is jointly supported by the DKFZ, excellent partners in university medicine and other outstanding research partners.
