Discussions about German-Israeli projects, new projects and spring
The 34th Meeting and the 13th Workshop of the DKFZ-MOST Program took place at the DKFZ from March 20 – 22, 2011. About 35 scientists arrived from Israel on March 20th and were joined by a large number of scientists from the DKFZ. The highlight of the first day was the keynote lecture by Hans-Georg Rammensee from the University of Tübingen who talked about his research in the field of “Molecularly defined cancer immunotherapies”.
Seventeen ongoing projects were presented during the Workshop and evaluated by the Joint Program Committee (JPC). Furthermore, the JPC selected five new projects out of the 11 full proposals that had been submitted.
The social program of the Workshop started with a welcome dinner on March 20th. On March 21st, the project partners enjoyed a guided tour of the castle of Heidelberg, where bright sunshine greeted the guests. A reception in the evening concluded this day with much variety. During the reception, the 35th anniversary of this cooperation program, with now more than 140 joint projects, was celebrated. This cooperation has not only yielded highly ranked scientific publications, but in many cases has resulted in personal friendships between the members of the Joint Scientific Program Committee, the program coordinators and the participants from Israel and the DKFZ.
