Major Tasks of the Central Library:

• Providing scientific literature and information needed by the scientists of the German Cancer Research Centre (Facts and Numbers - Central Library)


• Main areas of collection are: Tumor Biology, Mechanisms of Cancer Genesis, Carcinogenic Factors, Cancer Prevention, Research on Diagnostics and Therapy as well as other special subjects needed by our scientists


• Giving support by librarians to decentralized library locations of the Research Centre


• Editing and publishing the overview of publications of the German Cancer Research Centre


• Setting up an archive of the history of the Research Centre in collaboration with the archive of University of Heidelberg
