Marcel is a Ph.D. student at IMSY focused on improving the reliability of AI models to enable their translation into real-world clinical deployment. He received his Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Biology from Emory University in Atlanta, USA in 2019 followed by a Master's in Biomedical Computing from TU Munich in 2022. He is particularly interested in exploring the opportunities and challenges of utilizing foundation models for medical image analysis and working toward more general multimodal biomedical AI. In his free time, Marcel enjoys wildlife videography, soccer, virtual reality gaming, and running.
