After completing his Bachelor’s (2018) and Master’s degree in Physics (2020), Niklas completed a PhD in Computer Science (2026), all at Heidelberg University. His research focuses on 2D-to-3D photoacoustic image registration for medical applications, including the development of the so-called Tattoo Tomography approach, for which European and U.S. patents have been granted.
Outside of research, Niklas enjoys playing touch rugby and cooking. He has also been involved with the German Red Cross for more than ten years.
