Oliver Schwarz is an economist and econometrician. Since 2006, he has been a professor of Economics and Quantitative Methods at the Heilbronn University of Applied Sciences, and since 2014, director of the Haller Institute for Management (HIM) at the same institution. Projects performed at HIM are methodologically supported by its associated organization Statistics Competence Center (SKZ). Prof. Schwarz is also the head of the master program "Business Analytics, Controlling and Consulting" from the aforementioned university.

Previously, he was a professor at the Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University with a focus on database marketing and data mining, and worked for several years in the pharmaceutical industry in the areas of database marketing and target group management. He studied economics with the area of specialization in statistics and econometrics at the University of Freiburg. He received his Ph.D. (Dr. rer. pol., summa cum laude, awarded with the Friedrich August von Hayek Prize) from the University of Freiburg in 1996.
