
Dr. Ramon Schaefer is a health economist at the DKFZ, and was, until recently, affiliated with the Medical Faculty Mannheim of Heidelberg University. His primary research focuses on Health Technology Assessments (HTAs) conducted by national HTA agencies, with an emphasis on comparing evaluation outcomes and examining how these are influenced by methodological choices. In addition, he is currently involved in projects related to the measurement of social preferences for health care interventions and the economic concept of the value of (a statistical) life (year).
Since 2015, Dr. Schaefer has served as a research associate and scientific project manager at the independent Institute for Innovation & Valuation in Health Care (InnoVal-HC) in Wiesbaden.
