Phu Duy Pham is a doctoral researcher, and his PhD thesis will focus on developing a valid instrument for investigating financial impacts of cancer among cancer patients and their families. This is part of the socioeconomic impact analysis with the further purpose of integrating health economic aspects in cancer research in the future.

Phu Duy Pham completed his Master of Public Health with a specialization in Health Economics at Umeå University, Sweden. During his master studies, he conducted two projects. First, he analyzed a population-based dataset to examine the role of social support in the relationship between substance abuse and mental well-being using advanced epidemiological methods of mediation and moderation analyses. Second, Duy applied a Markov Model to perform a cost-utility analysis under lifetime approach comparing Mastectomy and Lumpectomy surgical procedures in breast cancer in Swedish context. He also had 4-year experience as a public health professional in Danang Oncology Hospital, Vietnam, with the main role of cancer registry, epidemiological research, and health insurance in cancer.
