Muchandifunga (Trust) Muchadeyi's research interests include costing and cost-effectiveness analysis of health care intervention as a way of improving efficiencies in the allocation of scarce resources within health systems. He is conducting a health economic evaluation (costing, budget impact analysis and cost-effectiveness analysis) of risk-stratified prostate cancer screening strategies in Germany as his PhD thesis.

Muchandifunga completed his Masters in Public Health with a specialization in Health Economics at Umeå University in Sweden (with acknowledgement to the Swedish Institute Scholarships for Global Professionals). During this period, he conducted two independent research projects. The first was an econometric analysis of the determinants of out of pocket expenditure in Tanzania as a way of mapping for universal health coverage. For the second project, he used a Markov Model to evaluate the cost-effectiveness of introducing a recently approved malaria vaccine in Sub-Saharan Africa. In addition to his credentials in health economics, Trust has a background in pharmacy and vast experience in pharmaceutical retail. He served as both a board member and pharmacy manager for Premier Services Pharmaceuticals, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Premier Services Medical Investments in Zimbabwe.
