Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Annette Kopp-Schneider
Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Annette Kopp-Schneider is Head of the Division of Biostatistics at the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) in Heidelberg, Germany. She studied Mathematics and Computer Science and obtained her Dr. rer. nat. from Rheinisch-Westfälische Technische Hochschule in Aachen, Germany. After an appointment as Visiting Fellow at the National Institute for Environmental Health Sciences in North Carolina, USA, she joined the Division of Biostatistics at the DKFZ with a focus on stochastic carcinogenesis modeling. She obtained her Habilitation in the field of Medical Biometry at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg and was nominated as professor in 2007. She was appointed as Division Head in 2012. Annette Kopp-Schneider has authored more than 140 peer-reviewed publications. Her main activities are service and research in the field of biostatistical methods and their application in cancer research, statistical support for all scientific activities of the DKFZ from in vitro and animal studies to human subject research including clinical trials. Her current research topics range from statistical dose-response modeling to the design of clinical trials for personalized oncology.
