Being also a journalist by training, Ulrike Grönefeld earned her masters degree in the field of political science, history and German lingual sciences at the University of Münster/Germany. Before joining dkfz in 2017 she held various positions in communications in the public and the private sector. Prior to dkfz she worked in communications for HELIOS clinics (HELIOS is Europe's leading private hospital operator with more than 100,000 employees in Germany and Spain). Before, she was also in charge of communications at Deutsche Bahn AG and served as spokesperson for sustainability. She also held various positions in communications in Germany’s steel industry at Thyssen-Krupp.
