Data protection information of DKFZ on donations

The personal data that you transmit to us or provide in the context of your donation on the bank transfer (first and last name respectively the company name, if applicable address, e-mail address, telephone number) will be processed for the following purposes:

• Issuing of a donation receipt by DKFZ
• Asking for donations (by mail or telephone), e.g. sending of information material by DKFZ and/or contract processors commissioned by DKFZ.

DKFZ also processes personal data for the purpose of asking for donations, as DKFZ has a legitimate interest in collecting donations for cancer research. This also applies if you would like to initiate or have initiated a donation campaign or a donation event and have provided us with your data for this purpose. This also applies if you requested information material about DKFZ and have provided us with your data for this purpose.

In the case of occasional donations, using a password, your first and last name (respectively the company name) will be forwarded to the initiator of the donation event (donor list), if he is known to us, and requests this information. Your personal data will not be passed on to additional third parties.

The personal data collected in the course of your donation will be stored for ten years from the date of receipt of your last donation. We delete the data arising in this context after the storage is no longer necessary, or restrict the processing if statutory retention obligations exist.

You can request information at any time as to which data of yours we are processing (right of access). You have the right to revisions and/or additions, if the processed personal data concerning you are incorrect or incomplete (right of rectification). You can demand the restriction of processing of your personal data at any time (to restriction of processing). You can demand the immediate deletion of your personal data at any time (right to erasure). You have the right to receive the personal data concerning you in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format (right of data portability). Legal retention periods remain unaffected by this.

Irrespective of any other administrative or judicial remedy, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority if you consider that the processing of personal data concerning you is contrary to the GDPR (right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority).

The provision of your personal data is required to prepare a donation receipt for your donation. If you don't provide your address, you will not receive a donation receipt. Consent to the processing of your personal data is voluntary. You can refuse your consent to have your data processed and donate anonymously to DKFZ.

If the DKFZ wishes to process your personal data for purposes other than those mentioned above, the DKFZ will provide you with information about these other purposes and all other relevant information in accordance with Art. 13 paragraph 2 GDPR prior to such further processing.
