Research group on thoracic imaging
The research group concentrates on develepment and clinical evaluation of new radiologic methods for morphologic and functional thoracic examination.
There are new techniques of computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) used for improving visualisation of the lung and bronchial system including lung tumors.
Furthermore functional methods complete the exams. These methods are:
= blood circulation of the lung for
- diagnostic of parenchyma diseases
- characterization of lung nodules
= evaluation of lung motion and pulmonary nodules during normal and forced breating
- defining the local deformation
- planning of a stereotactic radiation therapy
