About Emma
Emma obtained her BSc from the University of Padova and her MSc in Biomedical Engineering from Politecnico di Milano, specialising in applications of AI in biomedicine. She conducted her Master’s thesis research at Yokohama National University in Japan, focusing on deep learning for pancreatic tumour segmentation with limited annotations. In 2026, she joined the Gerstung group as a PhD student. Her research focuses on developing AI agents for neuropathology, integrating digital pathology, clinical reports and molecular data to support the diagnosis of central nervous system tumours.
