Center for Advanced Cancer Studies

The Center for Advanced Cancer Studies (CACS) is a central research unit of the German Cancer Research Center. It promotes scientific exchange on strategically important topics in cancer and health research and supports their further development through interdisciplinary collaboration and scientific consultation.

At the Center for Advanced Cancer Studies, senior fellows - experienced researchers from the DKFZ as well as renowned national and international visiting scholars - come together to contribute their expertise to strategic issues in cancer research. Through interdisciplinary think tank formats, they generate ideas for new research approaches, advise the Executive Board on scientific and strategic issues, and foster collaboration across disciplinary and institutional boundaries.

The Center for Advanced Cancer Studies coordinates activities in selected strategic areas, including diversity in biomedical research, global health, and aging and multimorbidity. In addition, the Center addresses new scientific and societal developments and supports collaboration with national and international partners.
