About Shawn (Shuyang)
Shawn obtained his undergraduate degree from Rice University in Texas, where he worked on applied computer vision in medical imaging. Following a brief stint in medical school in Singapore, Shawn spent some time working on single-cell foundation models at EPFL in Switzerland before joining the Gerstung group in 2025 to work on multimodal modeling of health trajectories.
