About Mervdy
Mervdy Nkangu worked for many years as a Social Worker in various roles supporting children, adolescents, and families. Most recently, she completed her training as an anti-racism trainer as well as her Master’s degree in Sociology at the Max Weber Institute at Heidelberg University.
In her new position at DKFZ, Mervdy will serve as Equal Opportunities Office Coordinator, acting as the link between the Equal Opportunities Officers and DEI Management. In coordination with her team members, she will be responsible for supporting a range of topics in these areas. For Mervdy, issues of gender equality and DEI affect everyone, as they represent fundamental principles of a just, high-performing, and cohesive society. She also believes that equality and DEI enable individual growth, foster innovation and social cohesion, protect against exclusion, and lead to fair, resilient, and effective communities.
