Grants Office
The Grants Office supports the DKFZ' scientists in acquiring and managing project funding from national and international funding agencies, such as the Federal Ministry for Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR), the German Research Foundation (DFG), the Helmholtz Association of German Research Centres (HGF), the German Cancer Aid, the European Union (EU), the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and numerous foundations.
Our department
The Grants Office is the central point of contact for all questions concerning national and international research funding at the DKFZ.
We guide researchers through every stage of the grant‑application process – from identifying suitable funding programmes, to developing the project proposals, and finally to submission (Pre‑Award).
In addition, we take care of the administration of ongoing projects during the funding process and provide advice on guidelines, budget planning, and reporting (Post‑Award).
The Grants Office consists of two closely collaborating teams:
- The Scientific Grants Advisor and EU strategy Group provides support with the content and strategic design of funding proposals.
- The Proposal and Project Administration Group handles the administrative aspects of funded projects – from the application stage through to financial project completion.
