Postdoctoral Scientist in Applied Health Economics



Ihre Aufgaben:

• Cooperate with clinical researchers, epidemiologists and statisticians in the development of health economics study protocols, case report forms, and evaluation strategies
• Conduct literature reviews related to health economic evaluations and cost-effectiveness analyses
• Perform empirical statistical analyses to establish cost-effectiveness, social value, and budget impact of health interventions
• Design and develop predictive health economic models to conduct economic evaluation of health interventions
• Write scientific manuscripts
• Contribute to and write grant applications to fund economic evaluation of health interventions

Ihr Profil:

We are seeking a highly motivated, conscientious and diligent scientist, who is flexible, dynamic, and able to work with autonomy to drive his/her individual projects forward while also contributing to the group as an integral team member. The scientist will receive trainings on conducting health economic research and developing economic and econometric models by our internal experts. In addition, he/she will work closely with the team members both at HIPH and DKFZ.

• The successful candidate will have a recent or expected doctorate degree (e.g., Ph.D.) in health economics, economics, decision science, statistics, mathematics, epidemiology, health services research, or other relevant scientific disciplines with strong quantitative trainings
• The candidate should be self-motivated, productive, and team-oriented, with proven scientific problem-solving skills
• The candidate should have experience in economic evaluation, health technology assessment, or a related field
• The candidate should also have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
• Ideally, the candidate will have strong statistical and/or predictive mathematical modelling skills
• Creativity and critical thinking to challenge ideas are expected

The ability to work well in collaborative, cross-functional teams is required.
