DNA methylation harbors critical relevance for the control of gene transcriptional activities, the architecture of the nucleus of cells, and is involved in cancer pathogenesis. Using the Infinium 27K and 450K Methylation Assay for genome-wide investigation and applying MALDI-TOF Mass Spectrometry for further validations, we aim to find novel markers for the early detection of breast cancer, the prediction of breast cancer diagnosis and the monitor for the response of breast cancer treatment. For the promising candidates, the functional study will be performed to explore the mechanism.
