Introduction

Regarding the importance of the L2 protein for viral infection further investigation on potential functions by the identification of new cellular interaction partners of L2 represents a promising field of research.The objective of this project is the identification and validation of cellular proteins interacting with the HPV minor capsid protein L2. The tandem-affinity purification (TAP) and Co-immunoprecipitation (Co-IP) represent two approaches applied for the identification of L2 interacting proteins.

To validate the identified interaction studies co-localization studies using immunofluorescence are conducted. The potential candidates are further analyzed for their contribution to viral infection or production of virions in pseudovirus (PsV) based-knockdown studies.
