 ct Biological analyses of tumor tissues showed that the FMD (fasting-mimic
 king diet) reduces the ability of cancer cells to utilize glucose—a key 
 nutrient supporting tumor growth and immune evasion. This represents the f
 irst evidence in cancer patients that a powerful nutritional intervention 
 such as the FMD can significantly alter the metabolic properties of tumor 
 cells. What is Cancer Core Europe (CCE)? Cancer Core Europe is a consortiu
 m of seven leading cancer centres (www.cancercoreeurope.eu). CCEs members 
 are driven by a strong will to reshape the cancer research model to ultima
 tely increase the European Union’s competitiveness as a place to conduct
  cutting-edge research that’s translated to the clinic to deliver more p
 ersonalized medicine. What is the content and aim of the CCE Lecture? The 
 CCE Lecture series is a CCE-internal event\, which educates and informs ab
 out state-of-the-art research within the seven centers and is aimed to inc
 rease awareness among partners about each other’s activities and potenti
