Success rates of yeast two-hybrid screens
Not all yeast two-hybrid screens produce useful data! Some baits just do not work in this system, and others will only give reliably data when a particular library is screened. This is a limitation inherent to the yeast two-hybrid method.
For the last 100 baits we have tried, we classified the screens in five quality categories, from "excellent" to "not screenable". The resulting chart is shown below. Note that for the category "not screenable", the screens were cancelled at no cost for the customers.
As can be seen, some two thirds of all screen produce useful data, and a great fraction of those data are excellent. You will find an illustrated example of our screening results at our Example data page.
