For several years, the division was housed in a temporary container building. During this period. it grew from 8 people to about 40 in numbers. In 2002, a new building for Functional and Structural Genomics and related research areas was opened, which is located in direct neighbourhood to the then abandoned and meanwhile dismantled container building.
