Kai joined the lab in 2000 and works now as a postdoc after receiving his PhD in 2004. He studied biology at the University of Glasgow and the Justus-Liebig-Universität Gießen were he received his biology diploma.
His diploma thesis was on gene flow in fragmented populations. During his PhD thesis he worked on chromosomal aberrations of neuroblastomas and identified a novel prognostic marker for this disease. Currently he leads the project “Neuroblastoma - 1p aberrations and prognostic variables”.
