Elena joined the neuroblastoma group in July 2005 as a PhD student of the international PhD program. She received her Bachelor and Master's degrees at Saint-Petersburg State University (Russia). During her Bachelor’s and Master’s work Elena studied antagonizing effects of Hsp70 chaperone and Myc oncoproteins on execution of apoptotic program.
Her PhD project mostly concentrates on differentially expressed miRNAs known in neuroblastomas and the characterization of novel miRNAs cloned from neuroblastoma cells.
