Systems Biology of Signal Transduction

Ihre Aufgaben:

The research in the division of Systems Biology of Signal Transduction focuses on cancer of the lung, the liver and the hematopoietic system. Cancer initiation and progression is promoted by multifactorial events caused by a set of individual processes and factors. Our Systems Biology approach combines the generation of quantitative analytical data with mathematical modeling. This approach provides unique insights into complex biological processes, enables the identification of key factors directing these processes and facilitates the prediction of targeted therapeutic interventions to develop personalized treatment options. Generation of time-resolved quantitative data from cellular model systems, from human cells and from patient samples is the basis for the success of this approach. For quantitative data generation, liquid chromatography-electrospray-tandem mass spectrometry (UPLC-ESI-MS/MS) is a key analytical platform.

To support our team, we are looking for a Postdoctoral Fellow specialized in bioanalytical mass spectrometry with knowledge in biochemistry/biotechnology.

Your major tasks will be
• Optimization and set-up of quantitative mass spectrometric methods of proteomics and targeted proteomics for the analysis of cells and tissue
• Quantification of covalent modifications, in particular of phosphorylation
• Advancement of mass spectrometry-based protein quantification methods in samples of human extracellular matrix and samples of human breath exhalates
• Software-supported data evaluation, data documentation, interpretation and communication

Ihr Profil:

• PhD degree in natural sciences with hands-on experience in mass spectrometry
• Knowledge of and interest in biological processes
• Expertise in software-supported evaluation of MS data
• Well-organized and effective working style, self-motivated, capable to work in a team and to communicate results

Wir bieten:

  • Interessanten, vielseitigen Arbeitsplatz
  • Internationales Umfeld
  • Vergütung nach TV-L
  • Möglichkeiten zur Teilzeitarbeit
  • Flexible Arbeitszeiten
  • Gute Fort- und Weiterbildung
