Simone Albrecht studied Biology at the Carolo-Wilhelmina Technical University Braunschweig focusing on Plant Biology, Cell Biology, Microbiology and Genetics. For her diploma thesis with the title “Structural characterisation of actin and the actin polymerization inhibitors rhizopodin and chivosazol a” she worked in the department of Structure Biology at the Helmholtz Center for Infection Research in Braunschweig under the supervision of Dr. Wolf-Dieter Schubert.
In December 2007 Simone joined the group as a Phd student focusing the role of reactive oxygen species in ageing processes and diseases.
