Short Biography
With a major in Genetics, and minors in Cell Biology & Molecular Biology, Romy obtained her degree in Biology from the Free University of Berlin. For her diploma thesis, she joined the lab of Prof. Lai-Ming Ching at the Auckland Cancer Society Research Centre in Auckland, New Zealand, to work on the mechanism of action of the anti-cancer drug DMXAA.
In October 2008, Romy started her Ph.D. work on the redox regulation of the tumor suppressor PTEN.
