=> Regulation and role of protein metabolism in health and disease
In our group we aim to identify novel mechanisms of how protein metabolism is regulated. In particular, we use mouse models as well as ex vivo tissue incubation and cell culture combined with novel molecular and biochemical techniques to gain new insights into the molecular physiology of systemic and tissue specific protein turnover.
Currently, we have two mains branches of research:
- Novel signalling pathways in the modulation of protein turnover
- Role of dietary protein content in mammalian metabolic function
