Locations: DKFZ Main Building and NCT
Hosts/Supervisors: Bruno Kyewski, Viktor Umansky, Adelheid Cerwenka, Alexander Rölle, Markus Feuerer, Inna Lavrik, Hans-Reimer Rodewald, Thorsten Feyerabend, Wolfram Osen, Stefan Eichmüller, Heiko Weyd (contact: b.kyewski@dkfz.de, v.umansky@dkfz.de)
Topics:
Methods in experimental immunology including tumor immunology encompass a diverse spectrum ranging from studies at the level of the whole organism using modern imaging techniques (i.e. two-photon microscopy) to single cell assays. The practical will offer a selection of these methods representative of the various research topics of the Tumor Immunology Program.
Content:
• Induction and detection of apoptosis
• Lymphocyte isolation and analysis by surface markers
• Cytokine network: from regulatory T cells to polarized T helper (TH) subsets. Plasticity of naive CD4 T cells
• Tumor cell adhesion and migration
• Mast cell degranulation
• IFNg ELISpot Assay
• Assessment of natural killer cell phenotype and function
• Detection of immune cell infiltration in tumor and control tissue using immunofluorescence techniques
