Occupational exposures
Occupational exposures account for an estimated 4%-8% of cancer cases, particularly cancers of the lung and bladder. These percentages represent nationwide averages and may be higher in heavily industrialized regions due to a higher proportion of occupationally exposed persons in the population (Vineis and Simonato 1991).
