Interactive NEtwork of Senior Scientists (iness) at the DKFZ
iness is the "interactive network of DKFZ senior scientists" which was founded in 2006.
The aim of iness is to foster interactions between scientists at the principal investigator level within the DKFZ with respect to research and research-related topics of general interest (e.g. funding, teaching, career development, WorkLife Balance issues …). Iness organizes information events related to the topics listed above. In addition, iness scientists are members in several DKFZ work groups and committees as consultants for decisions taken by the administration of DKFZ.
Besides direct personal interactions, iness provides information exchange and networking among iness members via a highly flexible electronic platform, which allows customized retrieval and rapid exchange of reliable information.
Senior scientists of iness encompass a heterogeneous group of scientists from senior post doc up to PD or professor who are conceptually responsible for a scientific project yet are integrated in a division. To become member of iness please use the contact form (see below).
Events
iness is organizing regularly various events. In January 2012 a guest lecture was held by Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Löwer and subsequent discussion round on "Good Scientific Practice" was organized. This event was attended by more than 300 guests and a lively discussion has proven the great interest in this topic. A follow-up event, this time in English, is planned early 2013.
Former events organized by iness can be found via this link.
