In accordance with the objectives of the DKFZ, iness aims to

• optimize concepts for and realization of research projects
• foster the next generation of scientists
• continuously improve teaching quality
• further improve the international reputation and the attractiveness of the DKFZ

In particular we

• provide a platform for new ideas and function as a think tank
• actively contribute to productive vertical and horizontal information flow within the DKFZ
• initiate/establish co-operations between research programs through improved scientific exchange at the senior scientist level
• put forward novel and constructive ideas to facilitate changes associated with e.g. department closings
• ensure excellence in teaching and early stage of academic training
• contribute to the optimization of scientific career development inside and outside of the DKFZ
• communicate the solid in-house infrastructure (administration and core facilities)
• actively participate within the DKFZ as a whole and thus further encourage corporate identity
• increase the visibility of senior scientists’ performance in research and teaching
