The Division of Immunogenetics at the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) headed by Prof. Peter Krammer is inviting applications from highly qualified candidates to establish and run an independent research program in development of molecular-targeted anticancer therapy and translational research. We seek for highly motivated candidates with a PhD in biology, biotechnology, biochemistry or molecular medicine, preferably with an immunological background and experience in the field of cancer research. Preference will be given to candidates with knowledge and working skill in cellular and molecular biology. Candidates with experience and working knowledge in virology are welcome. In addition to the above qualifications the group leader position requires an outstanding publication record and experience of leading a group of dedicated researchers.

We are looking for candidates to establish a translational cancer therapy approach based on virus based RNA interference and candidate molecules investigated in our division. The advertised positions offer excellent opportunities for development in the rapidly growing fields of translational medicine and in planning, conduction and monitoring of preclinical studies. The DKFZ offers an excellent scientific environment. Well equipped laboratory space will be provided.

1 Technischer Assistent (m/w)

Ihre Aufgaben:  

Entwicklung und Durchführung von Experimenten zur Translationalen Krebsforschung der Abteilung Immungenetik. Mit Viren sollen gezielt siRNAs in Krebszellen eingebracht werden. Die Auswirkungen auf das Wachstum der Krebszellen sollen anschließend in vitro und im Tiermodell analysiert werden. Die anzuwendenden Arbeitstechniken umfassen: Isolation von DNA und RNA aus Zell- und Gewebeproben, multiplex PCR, qRT-PCR, Zell- und Gewebekultur, Mithilfe bei der Etablierung von Tiermodellen.  

Ihr Profil:  

Sie besitzen eine abgeschlossene Berufsausbildung als BTA/MT(L)A (m/w) oder vergleichbare Qualifikation, bevorzugt mit Erfahrungen in Zellkultur und Molekularbiologie. Sie zeichnen sich durch ein hohes Maß an Eigenverantwortung, Flexibilität, Teamfähigkeit und Lernbereitschaft aus. Sie arbeiten selbstständig, detailorientiert und genau. Gute Computer- und englische Sprachkenntnisse sind Voraussetzung. Sie besitzen ein gutes Organisationstalent und technisches Geschick im Umgang mit Maschinen.
